Troublemakers

Not long ago, a famous psychic went through the Palmer House and identified an interesting ghost entity in the basement. This ghost was quite literally picking on people. He would reach through the wall and try to peel off layers of their energy. New (and/or underdeveloped) empaths seemed to be the most at risk. The ghost’s murdered wife was also involved. He had killed her. She was angry about having been murdered, and she didn’t like men. Any time her husband would come out of the woodwork and his hiding spot in the corner, she would fly in from the other side of the basement to attack him. As a result, he had tried to build layer upon layer of protection around himself, almost as if he were trying to camouflage himself. In my mind, I visualized it as if he was a swamp man in a ghillie suit.

The psychic provided recommendations and advice about how to deal with the husband and wife. Kelley took the information and conversation seriously and was determined to do whatever she needed to do to keep the basement—and all of the Palmer House—safe for both the registered and unregistered guests. As she likes to say, “Anyone is allowed to stay as long as they play by the rules.”

Not long after that happened, I was up at the Palmer House again to help with a big event that was to include a paranormal investigation in the basement. The Empath Eater (as we had started to call him) was still there. As with any basement tour of the Palmer House Hotel, there were sure to be vulnerable empaths in the group, going down to investigate in that very same basement.

I stationed myself downstairs. At one point, a group came and sat along the wall to the room where the Empath Eater liked to hide. When one of our group members mentioned that it felt like something pinched his cheek, I knew I had to do something.

I didn’t want to scare anyone with a big announcement, so I tried to contain the ghost in a bubble. But it didn’t work. His own freewill choice wouldn’t allow for it. Instead, I connected to the higher selves of everyone in the room, pulled in the higher self of the Palmer House Hotel, and went to work making a giant bubble of protection around the group.

We were having a lot of activity with the child spirits of the hotel and I didn’t want them to leave. I made the giant bubble look like a circus tent so the little ones wouldn’t be afraid.

We got through the night without further incident, but we wrapped up the third group a little early. By then, I was exhausted.

The next week, I found myself thinking about the Empath Eater a lot. I wondered what would cause someone to try to peel layers off of empaths in particular. Coincidentally (or not), every time I thought about the Empath Eater, a song popped into my head—John Lennon’s “All You Need Is Love.
